Dried Beans "Dörrbohnen"
The classic winter side-dish in Switzerland. Just soak overnight and they are ready to be cooked the next day. Simple, healthy and delicious. Saute some diced onions, add some Oswald Vegetable Bouillon (stock) and season to taste with Oswald Condiment Powder (Streuwürze) or Aromat.
Excellent with potatoes, including mashed potatoes, and meats - Rippli (ribs), sausages, or as a dish with potatoes and dried tomatoes.
Directions:
Soak overnight or at least 12 hours prior to cooking. In a large pot, sautee onions and garlic in butter. Drain the water from the beans and add to pot. Add vegetable bouillon and a condiment powder, or salt and savory to taste. Cooking time approx. 45 - 60 minutes.
